Is It A Red Flag?

Am I reading too much into it?
Picture this...
After a day of work, your child tells you we need to get sustenance for a friends summer slumber party. You're at a grocery store, you see a man that you know. You focus in on him after you turn the corner and instead of him saying, 'How have you been and what have you been up to? Nice to see you'- he says, 'What, are you stalking me?' It blew me away! I always heard to stay away from men like that.
For example; true story-I dated this guy when I first moved to Eugene. After one of the dates I was curious and asked him where he lived? He turns to me in a blue-collar-tour way and says,"What, 'er ya gonna stalk me?" It made me feel a little uneasy, I thought it was an odd come-back. After a couple of weeks of me not being able to even look at him anymore (he lacked many manners. I'm surprised I gave it as long as I did.) It turns out that he was the one that stalked me months after I called it off. I guess he chose to not hear me when I said never call me again. He told me that I must be gay if I wasn't interested in him. Can you believe that?!
I told my friends about the grocery store run-in. Several had different opinions. Was he just so nervous around me that those words popped out? Does he have a history of stalker or stalkee and it wasn't nerves talking afterall? Is it a red flag or a caution flag or nothing at all?
Places to avoid meeting men:
*A club or bar (alcoholic and married)
*Personal Add's and Internet (for my own personal reasons)
*A bus(can't afford his own car)
*His aun'ts spare bedroom( pervert & too afraid to be all growed up)
*On the opposite side of a plate glass window(because he killed his last stalkee)
*Neverland Ranch (do I need to give an explaination?)

OK, Neesie. Since you know this gentleman, see what happens next time you see him. You don't have to make any decisions re: him. Your job is to get to know him, perhaps, if anything!
Have a great night.
I'm looking forward to baseball!
